Tammy Ruth Terry, 58, of Ringgold, Georgia died after a difficult and lengthy fight battling COVID-19.

Tammy was born on November 5,1961 on a naval base in Bainbridge, Maryland and moved around until she settled with her family in Chattanooga in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Ricketts and sister, Karen Ricketts.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Terry; daughter, Alex Elkins (Ross); daughter Whitney Taylor (Thomas); son, Hunter Lewis (Nicole); stepson, Matt Terry; grandsons, Ronnie Lewis and Ryan Lewis; mother, Wilma Ricketts; brothers, Ken Ricketts (Sheila); Steven Ricketts (Tonia); grandchildren Grant, Jackson, Taylor, Emerson, Carson, and Addison; and many other loving family and friends.

Tammy loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren including the extra time she had with her grandsons, Ronnie and Ryan. She will always be “Nana”.

Her passion was helping children and adults of all abilities. Tammy started her career as an interpreter for the deaf and ended with working at Orange Grove as a job developer. Tammy was cherished by all those she worked with and had much passion for her clients and the support and services she provided. As Orange Grove leadership said, “Tammy was incredible at her work and displayed her true passion for the people with intellectual and developmental disabilities into employment in the community”.

At this time, the family wishes to wait to have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
