Wanda Lea McElfresh

Wanda Lea McElfresh, 70, of Parsons, died at 5:00 A.M., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her son’s home. She was born April 25, 1950 at Beulah, MO, a daughter of Earl O. and Reth (Enslow) Bonham. She was raised at Licking, MO and attended school there, graduating from the Licking High School. On January 28, 1973 she and Hershel Lee McElfresh were united in marriage at Licking. After their marriage she and they moved to the Rolla, MO area where she was a homemaker. They moved to Parsons in 1992. Mr. McElfresh preceded her in death on July 28, 2015. She enjoyed camping and taking her family on float trips on the Piney River. Survivors include: one son and daughter in-law – Shane and Mallory McElfresh, Parsons, KS; two daughters and sons in-law – Monica and Travis Curtis, Rolla, MO, Tina and Brian Harris, Chouteau, OK; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers – Walter, Gerald and Charles Bonham and two sisters – Charlotte Hodge and Edna Mateer. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the Hopewell Cemetery at Big Piney, MO with Rev. Norman Cartwright officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home at Parsons. Memorials are suggested to the Proud Animal Lovers Shelter and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
