Judith Ann Lambayan

Judith Ann Lambayan, 76, of Osage Bend, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020, at her residence. She was born July 25, 1944, in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Victor Paul and Mathilda (Kerperin) Cassmeyer. Judith was a 1962 graduate of Helias High School and received her Bachelor of Art degree from Lincoln University in 1995. She was united in marriage on February 27, 1965, in Osage Bend to Alberto Lambayan who preceded her in death on July 1, 2018. Judith worked for the Missouri State Office of Administration, Division of Personnel for over 30 years, retiring as a Fiscal Officer. She was an active lifelong member of St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend. She was also a member of Church Women United. A lover of nature, Judith volunteered for 26 years at the Runge Nature Center logging over 5,000 hours. Her passion for conservation and native species was shared with friends and family and embodied in her prairie restoration project at her home in Osage Bend. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie (Mark) Grothaus, Liberty; Victoria Lambayan (Brendan McVetty), San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren, Alexander Grothaus, Chloe Grothaus, Xavier McVetty, Diego McVetty; one great-grandson, Malcolm Grothaus; and six siblings, Mary Rose Dickey, Osage Bend; Shirley (Robert) Koelling, Osage Bend; Henry (Pauline) Cassmeyer, Springfield; Rebecca Cassmeyer, Osage Bend; James Cassmeyer, Anaheim, CA; and Elizabeth Cassmeyer (Elvin Martinez), St Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Virginia Cassmeyer and two brothers, John Cassmeyer, and Victor Cassmeyer. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City. The general public is welcome to attend the visitation while following social distancing guidelines. Facial coverings are required while in attendance. A private Mass of Christian Burial for family will be held at St. Margaret of Antioch Catholic Church in Osage Bend with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. The Mass will be recorded and available to watch Friday afternoon for those who wish to join the family in spirit.
