LD Smith

Memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. L.D. Smith of Monroe, La, will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, September 28, 2020 at Rowland Road Baptist Church, Monroe, with Pastor John Yates officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation, 1:00pm until time of service at the church. Mr. Smith was born June 26, 1943 and passed from this life September 25, 2020 at the age of 77. He enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, and in latter part of his life, he enjoyed spending time outside watching birds, LD also enjoyed going to the flea market and estate sales. He is preceded in death by his father, H. E. Smith; mother, Mildred Smith, brother, Howard Smith; mother-in-law Imogene Blaylock and father-in-law David Blaylock. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 54 years, Sandy Smith; two sons, Scott Smith and wife Lisa, Todd Smith and wife Heather; daughter, Hope Pittman and husband John. two sisters, Shelba Barns and husband Mike, and Murlene Ware; three brothers, Glenn Smith and wife Annie Lori, Lynn Smith and wife Kay, and Stan Smith and wife Patty; two brother in laws, Everette Blaylock and wife Linda, and James Blaylock and wife Connie, and sister in law, Ester Blaylock; seven grandchildren, Amanda Arat and husband Orkan, Christopher Smith, Allen Michael Smith and wife Tonia, Dylan Woolsey, Hunter Pittman and wife Laura, Hannah Jennings and husband Tyler, Jordan Smith; three great grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Kaydence Woolsey, Brilyn Jennings; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
