Elmer Travis DeHart, Jr. was born June 7, 1935 on a farm to Elmer Travis and Vallie Perkins DeHart in Hamilton County, Texas. He is survived by his wife Artie, son Travis, daughter in law Rochelle, daughter Julie and grand daughters Delanie and Jordan. Also sister Mary, brothers James and sister in law Cynthia, and Edward and sister in law Jan, several nephews and cousins. He accepted Jesus as his savior at age nine in Orangefield First Baptist Church. After moving to Houston he was ordained as a Deacon in the Uvalde Baptist Church. Elmer is a graduate of Baylor University where he met his love Artie Turnipseed and they married January 1962 @ Calvery Baptist Church, Waco, Texas. Elmers profession was banking in Waco, Orange, and Houston. While working in Orange he completed a 3 year banking program at L.S.U. in Baton Rouge. After retirement he served as Manager of I.B.E.W. Local Union 66 Federal Credit Union for 16 years.
