Clara Maxine Salmon

Clara Maxine Stephens Salmon 1918-2020 Maxine Salmon, 101 of Grayson, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 15, 1918, in Grayson, the eldest daughter of the late Cecil and Sally Goebel Stephens . In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Salmon; two brothers, George Stephens and Robert Dennis Stephens; three sisters, Judy Stephens, Christine Shultz and, Viola Justice. Maxine was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Wilson Creek Missionary Baptist Church. In early years during World War II, Maxine and two of her sisters traveled to Columbus, Ohio, to work in the Clayton-Lambert Factory supplying the war effort. In later years she was a homemaker and an excellent cook working at Star Elementary School. Two sons survive her; Ronald (Betty) Salmon of Ashland, Ky, and William "Duke" ( Mary Jane) Salmon of Grayson, KY; three grandchildren, Keith (Lisa) Salmon, Phoebe Adkins and Dusty Salmon; a step granddaughter, Mary Beth James, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will follow in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. until the service at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, facial coverings and social distancing will be observed
