Celina Marie Swantee Obituary

Celina Marie Swantee passed away peacefully on September 24, 2020. Born August 11, 1930 in Cap Pele New Brunswick to Georges and Judith (Cormier) Porelle. Celina is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Paul. Celina was the ninth born in a family of ten children. We are certain she has now been reunited with the 7 of her siblings that have gone before her. Proudly serving in the Canadian Air Force, Celina returned home to care for her parents and then entered the convent, where she thought her vocation was to her God. Although her faith never wavered for a moment, the convent was not for her, and she moved to Boston to join two of her sisters. Meeting Paul on a blind date, and nervous as heck, she sprayed Lysol all over her head instead of hairspray! She would still tell the story of how Paul smiled all night long! Celina leaves behind her son Robert Swantee Sr. (Kelly) of Des Moines, IA, and her daughter Cheryl Cade of Kennebunk, ME, who loved Celina more than words can say. Her grandchildren who were her life; Robert Swantee Jr (Brooke) of Adel, IA, Cheryl Swantee of Virginia Beach and Christopher Swantee (Hannah) of Walhalla, SC. She had five beautiful great grandchildren whom she also adored; Ryan, Lyle, Taylor, Celina, and Emma. Countless nieces and nephews from MA and all over Canada. The hurt and pain of her passing has left a hole for so many, but the family is comforted knowing Celina is no longer suffering, and she will live in the hearts of so many forever.
