<p>Winfield Stokes, on 88 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.</p> <p>Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton.&nbsp; Open visitation will be from noon until 6:00, Monday at the funeral home.&nbsp;</p> <p>Family visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the mortuary.</p> <p>Memorial donations are suggested to the Green Hills Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.</p> <p>Winfield Boyd Stokes was born September 3, 1932 in Unionville, MO to Cecil Edgar &ldquo;Red&rdquo; and Naomi Faye (Green) Stokes.&nbsp; He graduated from Trenton High School.&nbsp; In 1955 and 1956 He served in the United States Air Force.&nbsp; On October 18, 1971 he was united in marriage to Elgeva Lucille Chowing in Miami OK.&nbsp; She preceded him in death January 15, 2006.&nbsp; Winfield worked as a janitor at Rissler Elementary School from 1973 through 1994. &nbsp;He enjoyed watching Monday Night Professional Wrestling and the Chiefs games.&nbsp; He also loved eating peanut butter straight from the jar.</p> <p>Surviving Relatives include his sister Linda Peters of Trenton, a sister in law Caroline Stokes of Trenton, and nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Those preceding him in death include his parents, wife, a brother Cecil Stokes Jr., a sister Elizabeth Swiger and a niece Rhonda Lamp.</p>

Winfield Stokes, on 88 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
