Diana Gayle Baker Elliott, 73, of Grayson went to be with her Lord Friday September 25, 2020 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Diane was born June 4, 1947 in Mingo Co., WV a daughter of the late, William Lee and Mary Magdalene Suttles Baker. In addition to her parents Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Elliott; A son, Harold Tackett; two sisters, Pamela Baker Hensley and Rhoda Baker Roark; four brothers, Billy David Baker, Gene Baker, Gordon Baker and Carson Baker; a nephew, L. Bradley Elliott; a niece, Debbie Baker; and a sister in-law, Sharon Baker.
Diane started school in Lando School in the Lando Coal Camps in West Virginia and was a graduate of Prichard High School. Diane worked at many local establishments in Grayson, Letha’s Restaurant, the Sundry Store, and Jr Food Mart to name a few. Diane was also a school bus driver for the Carter County School System. Diane was a baptized member of First Baptist Church of Grayson.
Diane is survived by three sons, Tommy (Dana) Elliott, Tony Tackett and Dean (Jina) Tackett all of Grayson; a brother, Charles (Martha Ellen) Baker of Grayson; seven grandchildren, Johnny Tackett, Tawnee Tackett, Channey Elliott McGrath, Hannah Elliott Tussey, Trei Tackett, Madison Tackett and Wyatt Tackett; Seven great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Carol Baker of Ashland, Patricia Baker of Calhoun City, Mississippi and Josette Baker of Pittsburg PA; and several special nieces, nephews and extended family who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Monday, September 28, 2020 at the Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Everman Cemetery.
