VELLA DAWN DEE LIMESTONE Limestone - Vella Dawn Dee, 65, wife of Gilbert Dee, passed away Wednesday afternoon September 23, 2020 at a Presque Isle hospice facility. She was born August 17, 1955 in Allagash, the daughter of Norman and Julliette (Jandreau) Pelletier. She was a graduate of the Van Buren High School, and continued her education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent where she earned a degree in criminal justice. Vella was a talented seamstress, designed and made costumes for the Limestone School's drama department, and also made pageant gowns for her nieces and others as well as wedding gowns. She was also a talented artist and cook. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gilbert Dee of Limestone; her daughter, Julie Hafford and granddaughter, Avalon McMahon of Caribou; two brothers, John Pelletier and his wife Sandy of Norridgewock, Frank Pelletier of Benton; three sisters, Pam Peddie and her husband Harry of Orono, Shelly Pelletier of Caswell and her companion Richard Dee, Peggy Shaw of Ocala, Florida; sister-in-law, Gene Pelletier of Van Buren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Canada; as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Darrell Pelletier; and nephew, Curtis Pelletier. A quote in remembrance: “It's hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember.❤” In keeping with Vella’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
