Melba Rae Knight

<p>Funeral services for Melba Knight, 85, are set for Tuesday, September 29, 2020, 11 a.m. in</p> <p>West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.&nbsp;Mrs. Knight died Friday, September 25, 2020 at</p> <p>CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital Sulphur Springs. Interment is at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer Cemetery, Troup, Texas.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>She was born July 30, 1935, in Kilgore, Texas to Jackson Ray Stevenson and Bonnie Mae</p> <p>Haws Stevenson. She married Dale Knight in 1972 in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was an office</p> <p>manager for J. R. Dowelldell in Dallas. Following her husband&rsquo;s retirement to their East Texas</p> <p>farm, she became City Secretary for Bogata, TX. She was a member of First United Methodist</p> <p>Church, Bogata where she was very involved in her church. She directed the multimedia</p> <p>ministry and taught in the adult Sunday School. She enjoyed her extended family and loved to</p> <p>entertain.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Knight had been a resident of Carriage House Manor Sulphur Springs, Texas for the past</p> <p>two years.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Knight is survived by two daughters: Judith Rogers and husband Jimmy of Sulphur</p> <p>Springs, Lorraine Henry, Lone Star, Texas. One Son, James Raymond West and wife Kerri</p> <p>Walters of Independence Missouri. Step-children include: Carol Knight Stevenson, of Scurry,</p> <p>Texas, Keith Dale Knight, Arlington, Scott Knight, The Woodlands, and Russel Knight, of</p> <p>Arlington. Sixteen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Melvin Lynn</p> <p>Stevenson Robert Louis Stevenson, one sister: Jana Rene Haney.</p> <p>Arrangements under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com</p>
