Peg was the youngest child born to William “Arthur” Simpson and Charlotte Madora Shannon. She grew up on their dairy farm in Listowel, Ontario. During WW2 as a young woman she spent time knitting socks for the men and women, including her brothers, serving overseas. She came to London shortly after her high school graduation “to work in the big city” and soon found the love of her life Bud. They met at Wonderland Gardens under the big tree. She and Bud were married in 1951. Bud and Peg spent a short time living in Beachville, before returning to London to raise their four children. They lived on Parkhurst Ave for many years before relocating to Plymouth Ave. They were active members of St. George’s Presbyterian Church, where Peg sang beautifully in the church choir. She loved to sing and dance. She and Bud spent many evenings at the Stork Club in Port Stanley with their friends. They enjoyed traveling frequently, and often loaded up the kids for grand adventures across Canada and the US. Peg worked many jobs including sales, real estate, bookkeeping, and at the Western University Library. Her favorite job was selling Singing Machines with her friend Kath. She lived her life after Bud’s death spending time with family and friends, reading, tending to her extensive plant collection, walking, listening to and singing music, enjoying lunches and dinners out, playing cards and practicing Holistic healing including Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Reflexology. The family will be live streaming a graveside service on Thursday, October 1 at 11am (EST).
