Charles Theodore "Ted" Bow Obituary

Charles Theodore "Ted" Bow, 84, of Marion, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Ted’s final hours were spent with his family singing hymns to him, reading scripture, and sharing words of comfort. Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lanora, and the family takes solace in knowing he now enjoys the beauty and wonders of heaven with Lanora by his side. Ted was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on March 26, 1936, to Clarence and Marie (Primm) Bow. On August 23, 1958, he married Lanora Jean Newbrough. Ted graduated from Victory High School. Following high school, Ted attended and played football at WVU and then transferred to Fairmont State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. He was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. Ted spent his entire career working in the glass industry climbing his way up to his first plant manager role in Clarksburg, WV, followed by managing other glass plants in Ohio, Indiana, and finally at Foster-Forbes in Marion, Indiana, for many years until his retirement in 1997. In his free time, Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Faith and family were the biggest part of his life. He was a dedicated Christian, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Julie Bow of Marion, Betsy Marozzi of Columbus, OH, Jeannie (Johnathan) Grubbs of Birmingham, AL, and Linda (Michael) Osborne of Marion; sons, David (Katherine) Bow of Watertown, CT, and James Bow of Houston, TX; grandsons, Michael, Teddy, Garrett, Matthew, and Christopher; granddaughters, Jessica, Jackie, Elizabeth, Sarah, and Sydney; great-granddaughter, Rowyn; and sisters, Nancy Bane and Susan (Mike) Lawrence. In addition to his parents and loving wife, Ted was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Blair. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
