Peggy Ann Mousseau was born on July 28, 1964 to Jacqueline (Tapio) and Tony Mousseau in Pine Ridge, SD. Peggy made her journey to the Spirit World on September 24, 2020 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. Peggy attended Red Cloud School but then transferred to Pine Ridge School where she graduated High School in May of 1982. Peggy started working at Pine Ridge School in her early 20’s. She started out in the boys dorm, then eventually she moved to working in Special Education. Peggy had a big heart and would bring many boys home to stay on the weekend because they had n where to go. She treated all of them as they were her own. Peggy retired 20 years working at Pine Ridge School after working from 1989 to 2006, Peggy also worked for the tribe in the Secretary’s Office, at the CAP Office, and in the mail room. Peggy loved to make cakes and bake all sorts of goodies. Every holiday, she would bake goodies baskets and pass them out to all the relatives and neighbors. Peggy loved to watch cooking shows and loved to cook for her family. She also like to watch soaps, the game channel, and always the hews. Although Peggy didn’t have any children of her own, she was a big help in raising her nieces, Sheena, Kristen, Cristina, and Crystalina, and also her nephew, Charles. Peggy is survived by her younger sister, Tanya Mousseau of Pine Ridge, SD, brother, Allen Mousseau; nieces, Sheena, Critina, and Crystalina Mousseau of Pine Ridge, SD, Kristen Big Crow of Rapid City, SD; nephew, Charles Belt of Pine Ridge, SD; granddaughter, Jacqueline, Shaylynn Mousseau-Gray, and Joselyn Bad Heart Bull all of Pine Ridge, SD, Leila Belt and Tevon Big Crow both of Rapid City, SD. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Jacqueline (Tapio) Mousseau; sister, Holly Mousseau; grandparents, Ellen (Tyon) and Robert Mousseau, Bertha (Janis) and Raymond Tapio; cousins, David & Oliver “Butch” Mousseau, Marty & Harlen Tapio; and numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Ron Kingi, Donroy Ghost Bear, Darrell Vitalis, Sr., Dillon Nelson, David Birdsville, Stuart Mousseau, Jr., Kenneth Good Crow, Marvin Gray, Jr. and Scott M. Dreamer.
