Emory Gilmer Zimmerman

Emory Gilmer Zimmerman, 73 of Copper Hill, VA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Born November 1, 1946 at Organ Cave, WV, he was a son of the late Ira and Lucy Briggs Zimmerman. Emory attended Ronceverte High School, was a retired electrician with Rocky Dale Quarries, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1963-1967. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters, Joyce Gadd, Barbara Thacker, Joan Myers and Betsy Boyce. He is survived by his wife, Lenora Martini Zimmerman; two daughters, Kim Crandall and husband Ben of Pittsburgh, PA and Melissa Stankov and husband Anton of Roanoke, VA; two sons, Mike Zimmerman and wife Stephanie of Lewisburg and Ben Zimmerman and wife Kate of Floyd, VA; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Lindsey, Adam, Hannah, Alex, Max, Ethan, Emily, Ridge and Orrin; 3 great-grandchildren, Jamie, Palmer and Finley; also surviving is a sister, Janet Brown of Lewisburg. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
