Clara Lee Rose Obituary

Clara Lee Rose, 80, of Poulsbo, passed away September 20 at Hospice House in University Place. She is survived by her four children, Arne Urdahl, Jon Urdahl (Linda), Greg Urdahl, and Erika Urdahl; 8 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was born July 12, 1940 in Port Townsend, WA to Howard and Clara Bill. She worked for the DOT for over 30 years, first at the Hood Canal Bridge, where she fought for her rights after returning from maternity leave in 1970 and was working hte night the bridge blew down in 1979. From there she began her career with the WSFerry system, first in the temporary Lofall / South Point run and then for nearly 2 decades in Kingston / Edmonds. She lived in Poulsbo from 1976 until her stroke in 2017, when she was moved to an adult family home in Silverdale. She dedicated much of her free time to Vinland Lutheran Church and loved to go to nursing homes and sing hymns and traditional songs. She loved her kids, grandkids, and many bonus kids throughout her life. She was giving, hard working, and selfless. It would oftentimes take her a couple hours to grocery shop because she would chat in the ailes with her friends and neighbors. She loved coffee and quilting, bible studies, and choir. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimers Association.
