Robert J. Jacoby

<p>Mr. Robert J. Jacoby, age 74, of Vidalia, died Thursday, September 24, 2020, in Meadows Health in Vidalia after a brief illness.&nbsp; He was a native of Orefield, Pennsylvania and was a 1964 graduate of Parkland High.&nbsp; Soon after high school, he entered the U.S. Navy Seabees and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. &nbsp;He retired after twenty years as a Senior Chief and also served in the Navy Reserves.&nbsp; After his military service, he moved to Walnut Port, Pennsylvania where lived for many years, living in Arizona for ten years before moving to Vidalia in 2014.&nbsp; He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Wars and was a former Mason.&nbsp; He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and he played an active role in the construction of the Great Hall at Liberty Baptist Church.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Benjamin Jacoby, Sr. and Anna Mae Shaffer Jacoby; and two brothers, Richard Jacoby and Arthur Jacoby.</p> <p>Mr. Jacoby is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Mary E. Jacoby of Vidalia; one daughter, Cheryl Usher and husband David of Lyons; one son, Frank Weaver and wife Laura of Jackson, New Jersey; three sisters, Linda Miller and husband Thomas of McIntyre, Georgia, Jane Schaeffer and husband Randy of Breinigsville, Pennsylvania, and Pat Buchecker and husband George of Emmaus, Pennsylvania; one brother, Harold Jacoby, Jr. and wife Ellen of Andreas, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Kylie Malarich and Alexa Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held at a later date.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 410, Lyons, GA 30436.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Mr. Robert J.
