EARL SCOTT KEENE, 82 years of age of Vansant, VA, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Feds Creek, KY, he was the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Cora (Farley) Keene. He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and served in the United States Army. Scott was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a manager at Magic Mart before retiring in 2001. He was also a Freemason and Shriner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Keene; Brothers: Joseph Jr., Ivel, Mack and Robert; Sisters: Gertrude, Sue, Helen, Jean, Clair and Imel. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lucille (McClanahan) Keene of Vansant, VA; Son: Joseph Steven (Cindy) Keene of Hampton, VA; Granddaughter: Amber Lynne Tucker of Hampton, VA; 2-Brothers: Mark Keene of Mouthcard, KY, and Monroe Keene of Beaver Creek, OH. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. Memorial Services for EARL SCOTT KEENE will be conducted Friday, September 25, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Rife (Vansant Church of Christ) officiating. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 574 S. Mayo Trail, Pikeville, KY 41501.
