Mary J. Calenda

Mary Calenda (nee Pollaro) 100, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O'Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The funeral mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair. Visitation is on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Born in New York City, Mrs. Calenda resided in Bloomfield. She was a retired sales manager at Lipton's Department Store in Bloomfield as well as Levy Brother's Department Store in Clifton and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle September Club. She was the wife of the late Fred N. Calenda; mother of Fred A. Calenda and his wife Lauren; sister of the late Nicholas Pollaro, Sarah Miller, Bernadine (Bunny) Kalkowski, Ann Kaiser and Vincent Pollard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews from Las Vegas and the tri state area.
