Bernard Andrew Orie 69, known affectionately as "Whipper" to his family and friends, his smiling greeting "how 'bout you" departed this life on Thursday, 
September 24, 2020. He was born in Newport News, VA to Leoney Taylor Orie and the late Elliott Gene Orie.

 

Mr. Orie graduated from Newport News High School in 1969 and later in life went on to Norfolk State University where he obtained a Masters Degree 
in Psychology.
 

Whipper was preceded in death by his brother William Edward Orie.

 

Whipper leaves to cherish his memory his mother Leoney Taylor Orie, son Bernard Andrew Orie II(April), his daughter Kammaria Orie, nine grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, his brother Elliott Gene Orie II(Patricia), his sisters Brenda Orie Jones and Sylvia Diane Orie, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 3, 2020, 3:00pm at Full Gospel Worship Center 7010 Chestnut Avenue, Newport News, VA 23666. 
 

The services will be streamed on Full Gospel's facebook page under the name William(Gino)Bryant.

 

Church service is for family and close friends only.
