Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia Gertrude Allan (née Clark). After an exceptionally long battle with cancer, she went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on September 21, 2020.

Patricia was born on July 5, 1944, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Gertrude and William Bruce Clark. She married Jack Allan on November 29, 1964.  In 1970 they moved to Summerland, British Columbia, where together they raised their three loving children: Reynold, Russell, and Lori.

Patricia had just celebrated her 76th birthday in July. Before her sickness took over, she was full of life and laughter and was never one to pass up a good celebration. She loved to go on cruises with her devoted husband and loved social activities with her Red Hat “sisters”.

Family and family celebrations meant the world to Patricia. She was remarkably close with all her siblings, their spouses, and families. Her nieces and nephews always referred to her as “Favorite Auntie Pat!” She would not have it any other way!!! She cherished her sister Marlene Stewart and husband Raymond; brother Bruce Clark and wife Margaret; sister Connie Clark; brother Perry Clark and wife Kari-Lee; and brother Curtis Clark and wife Peggy!

Patricia’s greatest love, pride and joy were her six grandchildren and two great grandsons: Richelle and Benjamin (children of Reynold Allan and step children to Rozalyn Allan); Laura and Michael (children of Russell and Joan Allan); Alyssa and Megan (children of Lori and Jason Blenkinsop); great grandson Jackson (child of Richelle Allan); and great grandson Corbin (child of Alyssa Blenkinsop). She could not spoil and love them enough!!!

Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She will be forever cherished and deeply missed by all.

A private family memorial service for Patricia was held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Canyon View Cemetery in Summerland, led by Father Obi. The service was live streamed. To watch a recording of the service, please click the link below.

A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on a later date.

In honor of Patricia, memorial donations may be made to the Penticton and District Hospice Society and/or the Canadian Cancer Society.

'A limb has fallen from our family tree that says "Grieve not for me.  Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived when I was strong!"
