John J. Meehan of Ardmore, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was 84 years old. John is the beloved husband of the late Sally (nee Graney) Meehan. He is the loving father of Joseph Eric Meehan, Ellen A. (Shannon Rouse) Meehan, and John Robert (Kristin) Meehan. He is the devoted grandfather of Damian, and Connor Rouse, and Danny, and Johnny Meehan. John is also the brother of Daniel Meehan, Theresa Fox, Patrick Meehan, Bridget Maguire, Thomas Meehan, and the late Gerry Meehan, Kathleen Harvey, and Christy Meehan. Mr. Meehan was born on October 16, 1935 in Donegal, Ireland to Peter and Mary Anne (nee Hagerty) Meehan. John served in the United States Army for approximately 4 years. He was employed as a driver for over 50 years. First, he drove a truck for Sealtest Dairies and he also drove a cab for Bennett Taxi Service. He also drove for Main Line Transit ultimately retiring from there in 2014. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Monday, September 28, 2020 at 10 am and to his Funeral Mass following at 11 am, both in St. Denis Church 2401 St. Denis Lane Havertown, Pa. 19083. The interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers an offering in Mr. Meehan’s name to Addie’s Angels Foundation 24 East Westwood Park Drive Havertown, Pa. 19083 would be appreciated. In accordance with CDC guidelines, all attendees will be asked to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and restrain from physical contact. Thank you.
