Donald D. Lemons, 84, of Sesser, IL passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Washington Senior Living in Washington, IL.
He was born February 24, 1936 in Nason, IL to George and Maude Edwards Lemons. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clint; granddaughter, Casandra; grandson, Ryan; great-granddaughter, Ali’ana; great-grandsons, Kane, Tucker and brother, Clifford Lemons.
He married Patricia A. Gilman October 8, 1978 in North Pekin, IL; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Phillip (Donna) Ross, Deana (Matthew) Murray, Julie (Mark) Groomer, Michele (Shawn) Harshbarger, Kenneth (Shelia) Lemons; grandchildren, Daniel, Dana, Danielle, Bridgette, Kaylee, Matthew Jr., Hannah, Timothy, Jonathan, Marriah, Kody, Katie, Natasha, Jessica, Jordan, Bryce; great-grandchildren, Connor, Natalie, Gracie, Olivia, Oakley, Mason, Asher, Killian, Cassandra, Cassie, Sandy, Marissa, Kylee, J.J., Jayla, D’Kiyah, D’Laysah, J’Nayah; siblings, Phyliss Holeman, Harold Lemons, Wanda Haney, Janet Hasty and many nieces and nephews.
Donald worked for Caterpillar retiring in 1991. He loved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed sports and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 4 p.m. at North Pekin Village Hall 206 Lincoln Street, North Pekin, IL 61554.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his name.
