Alfred Nix

<p>Alfred Nix, age 85, Kansas, OK, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020.</p> <p>He was born January 13, 1935 in Delaware County, OK, to the late Tom Nix and Nancy Simon Nix.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; three sons, David Nix, Willis Budder and Joe Ray Nix; one brother, Leonard Nix; and one sister, Ida May Tanner.</p> <p>He worked for the Cherokee Nation as a community&nbsp;health representative for 35 years and was facility maintenance man at the Sam Hider Community Clinic in Jay, OK. He was a charter member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church most recently Standing Rock Baptist Church. He loved to attend weekend car races, loved to go fishing and always enjoyed a good hog fry. He was always ready to cook for somebody.&nbsp; He was a very loving great duda to all his great grandkids.</p> <p>Survivors include one son, Marvin Budder, Kansas, OK; two daughters, Joyce McCarter, Kansas, OK. and Brenda Shearin and husband, Brad, Twin Oaks, OK; one brother, Leo Nix, Ft. Smith, AR; four sisters, Sarah Feather, Melba Cate, Peggy Masters, all of Jay, OK; Meda Nix, Tahlequah, OK; four grandchildren, Derek McCarter, William Budder, Breanna and Faith Shearin; and four great grandchildren, Addison Budder, Mia Gifford, Armani and Ailani McCarter.</p> <p>Funeral services are planned for Friday, September 25, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Twin Oaks Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, Jay. Burial will follow in the Blackfox Cemetery, Kansas, OK.</p> <p>Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
