Ms. Eulalia Thompson Bennett (better known as Eula) transitioned on Wednesday September 23, 2020. She was born on July 17, 1937 in a town named Pacuarito, Limon, Costa Rica. Her parents were Gertrude Bennett Walker and Brisco Thompson. She was raised by her aunt Daisy Thompson. The family moved to Panama where Eula completed grade school. As a teenager she moved back to Costa Rica and in the 1960’s she immigrated to Brooklyn New York, USA to provide a better life for her children.
Eula worked at Beth Israel Medical Center as a Dietary Aide until she retired in 1999. Eula enjoyed dancing and cooking. She was an exceptionally good cook. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She doted over her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eula leaves to cherish her memory to her: three children, Oswaldo Walker (Sandra), Hilario Walker and Ricardo Bennett (Tammy); grandchildren, Amelia Walker Franklin, Stephanie Walker, Antonio Walker, Keshia Barker and D’Andre Bennett; great-grandchildren, Ariana Franklin, Janelle Franklin, the twins Zoe and Aaliyah Barker; sister, Patricia Bennett; cousins, Marcia Wilson, Xenia Walker, Carlos Walker, Lerna Walker, Roel Walker, Ronald Walker, Mildred Walker and Delrita Williams; Her dear friends who stood by her, Ms. Pearl Goode, Joan Rollins, Alma Davis, and Catherine Quesada.
There are no words to describe a loss of this magnitude. Eula was the last of our elders, the one who we could always count on for guidance, support and unconditional love. We will always remember the great times we had and the long life lessons we learned from her.
