Kozakewich, Deborah Helen (nee Sthaman), June 26, 1957 – September 22, 2020, entered eternal rest at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, at the age of 63 years. Debbie, the first born to Donald and Henrietta Sthaman (nee Koch). She attended her school years in Saskatoon, where upon graduation, attended SIAST College. Earning her dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her love of nursing, matched her desire to always be of help and assistance to those in need. She quickly earned a reputation of sincerity and caring, and was loved and respected by those she worked with and cared for. Debbie loved to laugh and often was amused by friendly ribbing from her co-workers about how her uniforms were described as white, crispy and without a wrinkle. Yes, Debbie always cared about her professional appearance.

In 1977, while visiting her friend in Tisdale, she met a young banker named Joe Kozakewich. Yes, sparks flew, and after a wonderful courtship Debbie and Joe were married 1980 in Yorkton. They lived in Prince Albert until 1982. A job promotion for Joe created an opportunity to move to Kamsack. A place they have called home ever since. On September 20, 2020 they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.  After a long career of caring for others, Debbie retired from nursing in 2012, Joe followed shortly after. Debbie loved to travel, and was always so excited about any trips they took. Joe once suggested, he would spring a surprise trip on Debbie. Debbie quickly squashed that idea. "I want time in advance, to be excited before we go," she advised Joe. Whether on the road or in the air, both Debbie and Joe loved to be on the move and travel. Alaskan cruises, vacations in both Canada and the USA, and a tour of Ireland were some of their favorites. Debbie was meticulous with the tidiness of her house and yard. Often guiding Joe on proper ways to place lawn ornaments and making sure the grass was always cut. In retirement, Debbie, joined the volunteer group associated with the Trackside Gardens in Kamsack, where each Tuesday, volunteers would spend time tending to garden beds, flowers and shrubs. A place where the public could come, relax and enjoy the flowers and shrubs planted there. Debbie’s love of family was paramount. She remained close to her siblings, nephews and nieces and never forgetting anyone’s birthday. Throughout her life, she was always extra proud of Joe, their two sons, Stephen, Robert and grandchildren. Yes, cookie production was in high gear every time she heard that a grandchild's visit was in the works.

She will be missed, so much by her loving husband, confidante and best friend for over 40 years Joe, sons; Stephen (Mariah) and Robert (Tiffany), grandchildren Bailey, Casey and Cameron, along with her siblings, Donald (Michele), Donna (Jim), Diana (Michael), Dan and by several nieces and extended family.

Debbie is now with her mother and father in a place where there is no suffering or sorrow, only joy and happiness.
