Mary Helen Siers Obituary

“There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved” ~ George Sand Mary, the daughter of Victoria Siers and Manuel Savantes, was born on August 12, 1944 in Pine Ridge, SD. She was the youngest of 7 children and was known to all as “Bubbles”. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 22, 2020. Mary was raised in Rapid City, SD and was a devout Catholic. She moved to Detroit, MI soon after having her son, and that is where she raised him. She had owned a restaurant for a brief amount of time. From her early 30’s until she retired, she ran a bar where she gained a second family and lifelong friends. Her famous fried chicken was always a hit there! After her early retirement, she devoted the majority of her time into being a grandmother and then a great grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy in life. Mary was a deeply loved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Cousin. She was a favorite among many of her family members and friends. She loved her family and extended family just as much, if not more in return. She had a feisty spirit and never thought twice about telling anyone what she thought! She was charming, witty, had plenty of wisdom and loved to tease and joke with those she was close to. Her caring heart was a gift to all that she held dear to her, especially to those that she considered her favorites. “You are loved forever.” "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." ~ Romans 8:38-39 Mary is survived by her closest sister, Rose Marie (Penny) Krenz of Hot Springs, SD; Daughter-in-law, Amy (Siers) Rouse of Detroit, MI; granddaughters, Channel (Siers) Fausem of Holly, MI and China Siers of Martinsville, VA; and 5 great grandchildren, Charles Fossum Jr., Oliver Fossum, Myah Siers, Judah (Siers) Plank and Giovanni Siers. Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Victoria Siers; father, Manuel Savantes; son, James Siers; brother, Dalmas Jumping Eagle; and sisters, Verna Hulgren and Aldine Bruning. Pallbearers will be Robert Highley, Kaden Garness, Kedrick Garness, Shawn Mousseaux, Dusty Mousseaux, Arlen Swallow and Edward Bury. Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
