Marvin "Robert" Zimmerman, III

Marvin “Robert” Zimmerman, III, 56 of Alderson, WV, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Born May 14, 1964 at Union, he was a son of Marvin Robert ”Sonny” Zimmerman, Jr. and the late Brenda Lucille Woodrum Zimmerman. Robert worked at the Water Plant in Ronceverte, Minden and Oak Hill, WV was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was medically discharged from the National Guard after 11 years of service. He loved listening to music and all things outdoors. In addition to his mother, Brenda Lucille Woodrum Zimmerman, he was preceded in death by his beloved pet, “Queen” of 14 years. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Darlene Brooks Zimmerman, a son Marvin R. Zimmerman, IV of the home; his father Marvin R. “Sonny” Zimmerman, Jr. of Fairlea; two sisters, Robin Zimmerman Wilson & Joey of Asbury and Renee Zimmerman Piercy & Mark of Sam Black, WV; also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2020 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Kenny Baker and Pastor Lewis Brooks officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the funeral home in Lewisburg. Social distancing and Covid-19 guidelines will be enforced
