Roger Lee “Renegade” Lester, age 76 of Hurley, Virginia passed away Tuesday September 22, 2020 at the Buchanan General. Hospital, Grundy, Virginia. Born July 21, 1944 at Hurley, Virginia, he was the son of the late Verner Lester and Vagel Sparks Lester. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Vance. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: His wife of 55 years Ann Lester of Hurley, Virginia Daughter Rhonda Prater and husband Tim of Hurley, Virginia Son Rale Lester and wife Genny of Hurley, Virginia Grandsons Jon Prater and wife Tollisa of Hurley, Virginia Jordan Prater and wife Kristina of Grundy, Virginia Aaron Lee Lester of Hurley, Virginia Sisters Phyllis Lester of Hurley, Virginia Carol Allen of Hurley, Virginia Lavon Jones of Gray, Tennessee Brothers Randall Lester of Grundy, Virginia Jeffery Lester of Hurley, Virginia Special family friend Lonzo Vance of Bradshaw, West Virginia Funeral services for Roger Lee Lester will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia with Bill McCoy, Danny C. Justus, Danny Hurley, and Danny McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home, where a service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Serving as Pallbearers will be family and friends.
