Paul A. Rodgers Obituary

Mr. Paul A. Rodgers, 6, of Waynesboro, passed away September 21, 2020 in Fairfax VA. Born May 20, 2014 he was the son of Craig A. and Chelsie (Collett) Rodgers. Being with his family and friends was important to Paul. He loved trips to the beach, running, swimming, and playing on his play set. He was getting stronger and could almost make it across the monkey bars. Riding his bike was a challenge at first, however he was getting so much better, the training wheels were ready to come off soon. He loved riding in Pap Pap’s “race car” which was a 1968 Dodge Charger complete with a roll bar. Also he loved his Dada’s Ford Mustang. Paul could tell you more about muscle cars than you ever knew. You can tell he was a car man. Digging in the dirt or sand was one of his favorite things to do. When he was digging in Nana’s garden he would make ponds for the cats, and condominiums for Mr. and Mrs. Worm and their family. Also, he helped harvest fruits and vegetables from Nana’s garden and enjoyed eating them. In addition to his parents he is survived by his younger brother Dean Rodgers; Grandparents: Sherri Hutton, Michael Collett, Steven and Dena Rodgers; Great-Grandparents: Cecil Van Dyke, Joyce Mock, Kenneth Ray, Jr. and Jeanette Ray; and Great-Great Grandmother Pearl Cump; numerous aunts and uncles; great-aunts and great-uncles, and cousins. A prayer service will be held at Otterbein Park, Welty Road, Waynesboro, on Friday September 25, 2020 at 8:00 P.M. and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Paul’s honor to Washington Regional Transplant Community at https://www.beadonor.org/donations/make-a-contribution/ Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro is handling the arrangements.
