She attended Gospel Assembly in Porter and was a former women&rsquo;s usher for over 20 years. Charlene was a real people person who enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and animals but nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.</span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wesley and Mildred Louise (Oliver) Cowan; sister, Diana Collins. </span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Survivors include her loving husband of over 50 years, Lester Whisneant; son, Les Whisneant and wife, Carey of Santa Fe; sister, Penny Green and husband, George of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Lauren Whisneant, Larissa Whisneant, Braylea Miller. </span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020, in the home of Les and Carey Whisneant, 3815 Shady Lane, Santa Fe, Texas, 77517. </span></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.</span></span></p>

DAYTON - Mrs. Charlene Louise Whisneant passed from this life Tuesday morning, September 15, 2020, in Webster.

Born June 27, 1947 in Houston, Mrs. Whisneant had been a resident of Dayton since 1982, previously of Houston. She attended Gospel Assembly in Porter and was a former women’s usher for over 20 years. Charlene was a real people person who enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and animals but nothing gave her more joy than spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Wesley and Mildred Louise (Oliver) Cowan; sister, Diana Collins.

A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
