Claire Elizabeth (Gill) Collier, age 92, of Lynn, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Collier, with whom she had shared 43 years of marriage. A lifelong Lynn resident, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Gilbride) Gill. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Lynn and Lynn Classical High School.
A loving mother, grandmother and homemaker, Claire had worked at Essex Trust and General Electric prior to raising her family. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Lynnfield, and was a member of the Our Lady’s Social Club. She also enjoyed bowling and spending time with her club friends from Sacred Heart Elementary. Her family was her greatest joy.
Claire is survived by her four children; son Dan Collier and son-in-law Michael Hamilton, daughter Ann (Collier) MacCorkle and son-in-law Scott, daughter Beth Collier and son Tim Collier; her grandsons; Joe MacCorkle, Mike MacCorkle, Conor MacCorkle and grandson-in-law Brian Lloyd. She was a special grandmother to Toby and Laura Elizabeth Bonnell-Bradley, Vee and Aiden. She also leaves her sisters; Mary (Gill) Gaffney, Rita (Gill) Potter, and Pat (Gill) Kelley; her sister-in-law, Betty Collier; as well as several nieces and nephews, and the beloved family dog, Bailey. She was predeceased by her siblings; Thomas Gill, Ruth Cartier and Peggy Moran.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. Those who prefer may make a donation in Claire’s memory to the Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette Retirement Fund, 915 Maple Ave, Hartford, CT 06114-2330 or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 5012 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
