Billy Joe Davis

Billy Joe Davis, 82 of Lee County, GA, died September 22, 2020 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at the Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery. Entombment will follow. Rev. Mark Spraggins will officiate.

Billy Joe was born on December 22, 1937 in Worth County, GA to Joseph and Kansas Davis. He owned and operated Billy Joe’s for forty one years. He was a member of Philema Road Baptist Church and the Loyal Order Of The Moose # 1285. Billy Joe enjoyed playing cards, watching the Atlanta Falcons, bream fishing and NASCAR especially Kyle Busch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Christeen Davis and his children, Vicky Lynn Davis, Terry Davis, Wanda Kimsey and Sherry Askew.

Survivors include his son, Tony R. Davis of Albany, GA, his sisters, Gail (Rocky) Layfield of Albany, GA, Edna (Fred) Riehl of Lee County, GA and Cecilia Ann (Guyton) Cochran of Camilla, GA, his grandchildren, Leslie Davis of Lee County, GA, Brandy (Jason) Nash of Atlanta, GA, Lacie (Marcus) Davis of Athens, GA, T.J. Davis of Lee County, GA, Cricket (Michael) Clark of Ashford, AL, Kansas (Jason) Webb of Lee County, GA and Joey Kimsey of Atlanta, GA, a son-in-law, Bo Kimsey of Lee County, GA and his great-grandchildren, Chandler Bryan, Alexis Clark, Autumn Clark, Mason Clark, Novalee Clark, Kyler Murphy, Baylon Collins, Chadleigh Rae Foster, Ashton Faircloth, Daniel Nash, Alex Davis and Rebecca Chick, and Jess Ellis, and five great-great-grandchildren, Molly Chick, Beau Chick, Emma Kate Lowery, Luke Gray, and Conner Gray.

Billy Joe will lie in repose at Mathews Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon for viewing and visitation.
