Doris Walker Thrash, 91, of Hattiesburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Asbury Hospice House. Due to COVID-19 limitations, the family will have a private funeral service with interment at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Thrash was born in Meridian, MS. She was a member at Parkway Heights United Methodist Church. She was an avid Bridge player and loved playing tennis. She lived most of her life in both Hattiesburg, MS and Fairhope, AL and made many lifelong friends over the years. She found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Harris Thrash; her parents, Ike and Myrtle Walker; her daughter, Deborah Lorraine Sommers; and her grandson, Ricky “Harris” Gibson. She is survived by her children, Ike Walker (Dawn) Thrash of Hattiesburg, Jimmie Harris (Twyla) Thrash, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC, Nancy Thrash (Ricky) Gibson of Hattiesburg, and Alton William (Lisa) Thrash of Prattville, AL; her sister, Hazel Walker Lang of Meridian; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
