Samuel Irvin Boston May 13, 1941 - Sept. 20, 2020 Samuel Irvin Boston, 79, Altoona, passed away on Sunday at his home. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Glenn and Ruth (Baird) Boston. On Dec. 6 1963 he was united in marriage to Regina (Zapotoczny) Boston. Along with his wife of 56 years, he is survived by three daughters: Cindy and her husband, Mark, Anna and her husband, Allen and Tonya and her husband, Allan; 16 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; siblings, Jesse and his wife, Suzanne, Doloris Kissel and Shirley Weyandt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings: Mannie, Robert, Jerry, Velda, Virginia, June and Betty. Mr. Boston received a degree in welding from the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. He was previously employed by the local painters union #409, and later in life was employed by The Hollidaysburg Conrail Railroad Shops. He served in the National Guard. Samuel enjoyed family poker nights, bus trips to the casino and always enjoyed big family gatherings for his birthdays. All services for Samuel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020,. at the graveside service at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
