Funeral services for Mary Ruth Caldwell, age 77, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley, Alabama, with Bro. Alan Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Mrs. Caldwell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday. Mrs. Caldwell passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her home. Survivors include her daughters, Tracy (Jonathan) Cole of Wadley and Crystal (Jody) Melton of Wadley; grandchildren, Sebastian Melton of Jacksonville, NC, Zoe Melton of Wadley, and Hooper Cole of Wadley; and one brother, Larry (Cheryl) Pool of Valley, AL. Pallbearers will be Jody Melton, Kenneth Adamson, Jim Branch, Greg Mask, Douglas Kirk, and David McGill. A Wadley native, Mrs. Caldwell was born in Randolph County, AL on June 28, 1943, the daughter of W. R. and Lela Mae Borders Pool. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wadley and was a homemaker. Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lynn Caldwell.
