Bobby Grant Simpson

Bobby Grant Simpson was born January 8, 1962 in Erick, Oklahoma to Linda Gail (Prather) and Grant Cecil Simpson. He passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at his home in Carter, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 13 days. As a young boy Bobby grew up in a few places included Perryton and Houston, Texas before his family settled in Carter, Oklahoma. He attended school in Carter where he graduated in 1980. In March of his senior year, at the age of 18, he was married to Martheia (Rippetoe) Simpson at Wheeler, Texas. Together they made their home in the Carter community where they raised their family. Bobby was a loyal employee to anyone he worked for and had numerous duties. He was a man that could do anything asked of him and fix anything that required attention. In 2006 he started working for DR Swab swabbing rigs and setting safety anchors. He began running the company in 2010 and later took over as the owner. He continued as the owner and operator until present. Bobby was a family man and spent as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren attending sporting events and fishing. He also enjoyed driving race cars, NASCAR and driving the "grocery getter" when the need arose. Above all he loved the Lord and loved his church. He is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, brother in law, Bucky Don Boyd, and one cousin and best friends, Dale Ray Simpson. Bobby is survived by his wife, Martheia, of the home; 2 children, Landon Simpson and wife, Melissa and Logan Simpson and wife, Brandi, both of Carter, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Lawson, Layton, Layson, Jerra, Brance, Lance and Bradyn; 1 sister, Donna Brinkley and husband, Billy, Erick, OK; 1 brother, Roger Lee Simpson, Erick, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 at Trinity Fellowship officiated by Jace Hargrove. Burial will be at Carter Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
