Virginia Mae McCoy Obituary

Virginia (Jenny) Mae Brown McCoy, daughter of the late Raymond and Marie Kenney Brown, was born on September 18, 1955. She departed this life September 21, 2020 three days after her 65th birthday at Tidal Health Nanticoke in Seaford, Delaware. She attended Delmar Jr High School and completed her high school education in Topeka, Kansas. With her love of caring for others she completed her nursing certificate at Sussex Tech in 1997. She was employed at Wicomico Teen Adult Center today known as Dove Point, The Epilepsy association Salisbury, Maryland, and prior to her health beginning to fail she was employed at the Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was an active member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, attending weekly bible study under the leadership of Rev. George Moody and Rev. Ervin Wallace. She was a member of United Methodist Women and a member of Lay leadership of development committee. Jenny was known for cooking for her family and friends, not to mention those good dumplings, turkey wings, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato biscuits and a wonderful cup of coffee. On any given Saturday Morning Rain or Shine she would try to find a good yard sale and the flea market. She loved a bargain that needed a little love to bring it back to life. In her spare time, she loved to decorate and beautify her home with her homemade flower arrangements. Precious and loving memories will be cherished by her husband of 35 years Albert McCoy Jr of Laurel and her Step Mother Ernestine Brown of Seaford Delaware, two sons Joseph (Rani) Brown of North Carolina, Michael Byrd Jr of Salisbury Maryland, One daughter Sakina (Robert, Jr) Cropper of Salisbury Maryland, six granddaughters , Deveney (Rashad) Smith, Darian Brown, Dinah Brown, Alexis Fooks, Ayanna Fooks and Aniyah Cropper, two grandsons, Robert (Rj) Cropperand Auden Cropper and two great grandsons. Two stepchildren Albert McCoy III, and Kathleen McGrieff. She will also be missed by her two sisters, Ida Lee Smith, Mardela Springs, Maryland and Grace Anne Truitt, Laurel Delaware, one brother Robert Brown Sr, of Salisbury, Maryland, two stepsisters Velda and Carla Scye and one step brother Dana Scye. Two aunts Alice Stanley and Darlene (George) Morris of Laurel Delaware. Three Sister in laws Rosalee (Prentice) Elsey and Nellie and Joyce McCoy two brother in laws Leonard McCoy and Marion Johnson. She will be missed by her forever friends Margaret West and Arlene Sesson several special nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Rebecca Johnson and Rose Brown and one brother Raymond Roberts one brother-in-law Wallace Smith and one siter in-law Zehobia Brown.
