Johnnie King Harman, age 97, went to be with her Lord Savior on September 4, 2020. She was born on May 21, 1923 in Wortham, Texas to Lillian Carter Rogers and Jack Rogers.
Johnnie graduated college in 1958 as an LVN. She was a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 10 years before returning back to her hometown of Wortham where she worked at Wortham Rehab and Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian Carter Rogers and Jack Rogers; sisters, Wenonna Abbott and Flovelle Driver; brother, John Albert Rogers and husbands, James M. King and Jim Harman. She is survived by her daughter, Anneshia Turner of Porter, Texas; three grandchildren, James Turner of Porter, Texas, Cheree Hambleton of Hockley, Texas and Chanda King of Spring, Texas; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Corley-Porter Chapel Wortham with Jack McKinnie officiating. Inurnment will be at Wortham Cemetery.
