Nancy Sue Cook 72, of Columbus, Kansas passed from this life on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO. Nancy was born October 22, 1947 in Galena, KS to the union of Charles “Pete” Faulkner and Julia M. (Clark) Faulkner. Nancy graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School in 1965. Nancy worked at Ace Electric for 26 years, and then worked at Cardinal Scale before retiring in 2017 due to health issues. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to gospel music, traveling to Branson and other areas. She was a sports fan and liked watching the Kansas City Chiefs play. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Pete” and Julia (Clark) Faulkner; brothers, Charles “Bud” C. Faulkner, Donald Faulkner, Kenneth Faulkner, and John Faulkner; sisters, Evelyn (Faulkner) Sullivan, Orlena M. Faulkner, Marsha Helms, and Sharon K. Faulkner; grandson, Matthew A. Cook. Nancy is survived by her partner of 31 years, Barry Rasmusson; Daughter, Jamie L. Ball and husband Doug of Scammon, KS; Sons, James A. Cook and wife Lura of Galena, KS, and Clay A. Cook of Galena, KS; Brother, Paul Wayne Faulkner and wife Cheryl of Excelsior Springs, MO; Sister, Mary Jo Faulkner- Talle and husband David of Miami, OK; Sister-In-Law, Beverly Faulkner of Dixon, MO; along with eight grandchildren, Cody Rakestraw, Ryan Rakestraw, Zoey Ball, Alexa Cook, Cierra Cook, Ashley Nichols, James Cook Jr., Aris Easter; eight great grandchildren, Quentin, Wyatt, Shanice, Jacklyn, Zachary, Olivia, Maddox and one due in December. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Messer Cemetery. David Talle will officiate. Family will be at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. for friends to pay respects using social distance and a mask is recommended.
