Essie Marie Raff was born October 4, 1936 in Stafford, Oklahoma to Oma Mae (Wells) and Jessie Daniel Digby. She passed away Monday, September 21st, 2020 at her daughters home in Durham, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 17 days. Essie grew up in Stafford, Oklahoma where she attended school and graduated in 1954. After graduation, she moved with her family to Clinton, Oklahoma where she was married to Jack Davie. They made their home in Clinton where they raised their three children. In 1964 Essie went to work full time at Puckett's grocery store where she was trained to be a butcher. Essie later transferred to the Sayre location where she remained until she moved Reydon, Oklahoma. She was later married to Thomas William Raff on November 2, 1984 and made their home on the family home-place. Essie began cleaning houses and church's and continued until 2018. Essie enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Iris Baker; granddaughter, Jamie Sides, 1 brother, Travis Digby and a great grandson, Thomas Vader Herzberg. Essie is survived by her husband, Tom, of the home; 2 children, Teresa Walker, Durham, OK and Doug Davie and wife, Tamara, Sayre, OK; 2 bonus children, Tim Raff, Erick, OK and Cindy Cole and husband, Delmer, Crawford, OK; 9 grandchildren and 6 bonus grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, 16 bonus great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She is also survived by 1 brother, Robert "Skeeter" Digby and wife, Geneva, Amarillo, TX and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Durham Community Building officiated by Chuck Milner and Dr. Alberta Helton.
