Judith Ann Ballard, Fort Gibson resident, passed from this life on Sunday September 20, 2020 at her home. She was 76.
Judith was born March, 18, 1944 in Muskogee, OK the daughter of Horace and Anita (Lankford) Burris. She was united in marriage to Stoney Ballard on April 7, 1961 in Tulsa and the couple made their home in Fort Gibson, OK. Judy was a homemaker who excelled at her job taking care of the home and family. She was a great dancer and loved trying to teach her kids to dance. Judy was a great cook and her flower gardens were the envy of many. She had a sense of humor that could bring a smile to anyone’s face. She often repeated stories about her and her sister’s escapades growing up with the biggest smile on her face. Judy never grew tired of saying how much she loved her husband Stoney, and taking care of her family was her joy in life.
Surviving are her husband Stoney, of the home; children Sheila Smith of Muskogee, Connie Holinsworth and husband Chris of Fort Gibson, Sandy Bergman and husband Shaun of Keystone and Stoney Alan Ballard and wife Janet of Gore, OK; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Horace and Anita Burris, and siblings Pat Lively, Tony Burris, and Jim Burris.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday September 24, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Igert officiating. Interment will follow at Holland Cemetery under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Fort Gibson. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
