Gweneth Louise Schafer Beasley, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at River Oaks Health Campus. She was born March 27, 1917 in Francisco, Indiana to Nicholas and Kate (Ward) Schafer.

She was a lifetime resident of Francisco, graduating from Francisco High School in 1934.

Gweneth was a member of Francisco General Baptist Church and served as organist for over fifty years. She retired from J. C. Penney in 1981 after 33 years.

She was a member of BPW Club of Francisco, Star of Hope Rebekah Lodge in 1940 and Pink Ladies in 1985. She enjoyed making quilts and tending her flowers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Louis “Bud” Schafer, sister-in-law, Helen Schafer, niece, Judith Schafer, nephew, Michael Schafer and nephew, Joe Beasley.

Gweneth is survived by her son, Sherrill (Linda); grandchildren, Melissa Beasley and Jon David Beasley; nephew, Larry Schafer; special niece, Peggy (Gary) Willis; special friends, Dena and Gary Maier; and Nina Lloyd.

The family would like to give special thanks to River Oaks and Southern Care employees for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held at Francisco General Baptist Church on Friday, September 25, 2020, with Dr. Katheryn Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Francisco Cemetery in Francisco.

Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. to be followed by Funeral at 10:00 a.m. Due to COVID-19, seating will be limited. Masks are required.
