Mr. Eddie McElroy of Jackson, Mississippi was born April 11, 1941, in Jackson, Mississippi, to QC and Lillie Kate McElroy. He departed this life on Friday, September 18, 2020. Eddie was a member of Bertha Chapel Church. He joined under the leadership of Reverend Silas Stapleton.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. Eddie graduated from Lanier High School in 1960, where he was voted as the most handsome and received a DAR scholarship to Tougaloo College. He loved to read, especially encyclopedias. His hobbies were: drawing, working on puzzles, cooking, renovating old furniture, and gardening.

Eddie was married to Mary Dampier-McElroy for fifty-four years, and to this union, three children were born.

Eddie worked at McElroy's Auto Repair, Illinois Central Railroad, the United States Postal Service, and retired from Delta Airlines in 1994.

Visitation hours will be Friday, September 25, 2020, from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, located at 886 N. Farish Street - Jackson, MS 39202

Graveside service will be Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Autumn Woods Cemetery, located at 4000 W. Northside Dr - Jackson, MS 39209.
