Helen Jean Goodwin was born February 3, 1930 in Gracemont the daughter of Erdy Isaac and Junie Lavada (Pogue) Dabney. She passed from this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Sand Springs at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 19 days. Helen moved to the Sand Springs community in the 1940’s and worked as a butcher and meat wrapper for Safeway for 36 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and caring for her yard, Helen also enjoyed volunteering, caring for others, going to church activities and spending time with her family. She was a member of Fisher Baptist Church. Helen married Norvel Leland Goodwin in Anadarko on September 14, 1946. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by both of her parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Her survivors include daughter, Glenda Riley of Sand Springs; granddaughter, Maria Crouse; great grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden; sister, Patsy Shook and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing for Helen is scheduled for 9am-5pm pm Thursday, September 24th and Friday, September 25th. A funeral service will be held 10am, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Lakeside Church of Christ, 619 N. Woodland in Sand Springs. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery near Mannford.
