Mr. Garnett Anderson Davis, 72, of the Waco Community, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center. Mr. Davis was born in Madison County on May 24, 1948, the son of the late Earl and China Isaacs Davis. He was a retired employee of Lexmark. Garnett was a people person, and after retirement he opened Davis Hidden Treasures in Waco where you could often find him sitting out front waving and talking to anyone and everyone that passed by. Garnett also enjoyed camping, working around his farm, attending car shows, and attending his grandchildren’s ballgames. He was a faithful member of the Waco Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Story Davis; his two daughters, DeAnn Metcalfe (Kellis) and Daphne Crutcher (Dan); seven grandchildren, Caleb & Kyle Crutcher, Peyton, Noah, Logan, Olivia, and Eli Metcalfe; as well as a host of other extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Wilson, Jr., & Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Wednesday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Dan Crutcher, Kellis Metcalfe, George Southworth, Steve Gates, Rex Alexander, and H. D. Prewitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Caleb & Kyle Crutcher, Peyton, Noah, Logan, Olivia, and Eli Metcalfe, Bill Miller, Tommy Hiatt, Greg Isaacs, and Jody Isaacs.
