<p>Jayne Grace Smith passed away September 20, 2020, in Mexia, at the age of 69.&nbsp; Visitation with the family will be held from 4 &ndash; 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held at a later date.</p> <p>Jayne was born November 13, 1950 in Houston, Texas to William Floyd and Pauline Kwasnica Slaughter.&nbsp; She was a retired nurse (LVN), although she worked for several facilities, the majority of her career was spent with Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck. &nbsp;In addition to a Degree in Nursing, and a passion for music, Jayne also earned a Degree in Music from Navarro College.</p> <p>Jayne&rsquo;s love for God and her family was evident.&nbsp; Her Christian dedication led her to become an Ordained Minister.&nbsp; She always looked forward to spending time with her family.&nbsp; She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.&nbsp; Jayne an avid rock collector, enjoyed singing karaoke, sewing, and working in her flower garden.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents. W. L. and Pauline Slaughter.</p> <p>Jayne is survived by her husband, David L. Shinault; sons, Chris Baker and wife, Linda, Matthew Baker, Michael Baker and Jeffrey Baker and wife, Wendy; a number of grandchildren; sister, Joyce Slaughter; and brothers, Robert Slaughter and William F. Slaughter, III.</p>

Obituary

Jayne Grace Smith passed away September 20, 2020, in Mexia, at the age of 69.  Visitation with the family will be held from 4 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.
