David Beckers passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 after his battle with cancer. The son of Robert and Betty (Drewiske) Beckers was born May 21, 1960 in Green Bay where he lived and worked his entire life. First and foremost, Dave was a devoted father and grandfather. He treasured his daughter Danielle and cherished every moment with her and her three daughters. There was no doubt that his favorite role was as "Papa" to his granddaughters. Dave loved to scout rummage sales for the perfect toy for his granddaughters. When Danielle called him one morning to tell him there was a Frozen costume available at some rummage sale in De Pere, Dave was off on a mission to find the “Anna“ dress for his granddaughters. When Papa made dinner for Danielle and the girls, the meal was more like a buffet. No one liked the same food, so he prepared everyone’s favorites. A meal like this could consist of ribs, meatballs, baked beans, mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes, all at one sitting. He never missed a beat to try to make his girls happy. He will be deeply missed. Dave was a dedicated friend, avid Packers and Brewers fan, and a self-proclaimed "Jack of all trades, master of none". He was always willing to help friends or family with any project that would arise, big or small. When Danielle’s washing machine broke, Dave used the iPad to look on Google and YouTube to figure out how to fix it. Dave was not big into technology. When he got a computer 20 years ago, he tried messing around with it and couldn’t figure out how to shut it down. He unplugged it and the next time he did anything with it was to put it out by the road. No home project will be the same without him. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle (Thomas) Bacon; granddaughters, Robyn, Lilly and Kylie; former spouse and mother of his child, Laurie Beckers; siblings, Marianne Beckers, Cynthia (Richard) Nocenti, James (Laura) Beckers, Debra (Kevin) Tenpas, and Amy (Don) Kuhl; nephews and niece, Robert Beckers, Brenda (Ben Lane) Beckers and Andy Ingold. Dave is preceded in death by his parents. If love alone could have saved you, you would have lived forever. Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N.
