Laura Rozier

Laura Rozier, age 93, of Douglasville, formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020. She was born in Twiggs County, Georgia on November 10, 1926 to the late Primus Simmons and the late Mary Blackshear Simmons.  Laura was a retired nursing assistant from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.  She was a member of the Greater New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Laura is survived by her daughters, Wilma Thrower and husband Albert, Brenda Rozier; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Cleo Bell; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Laura was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Rozier; four brothers; and five sisters. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe.
