Bobby F. Tipton

Bobby F. Tipton a lifetime resident and farmer passed away September 19 2020 at South Central Kansas Medical Center at the age of ninety. Funeral services will be at Rindt-Erdman funeral home Wednesday September 23rd at 10:30 am. The family will gather for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at Rindt-Erdman funeral home. Social visiting guidelines will remain in affect. Memorials have been established at the Arkansas City, Kansas Presbyterian Manor employee Christmas Fund. Bobby was born January 30, 1930 to Foster and Vera Tipton in Arkansas City, Kansas. He attended school in Arkansas City and graduated from Arkansas City High School in class of 1948. After high school, he worked on the pipeline across the country until he was drafted into the Army Infantry where he served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1957 at which time he was honorably discharged. At that time he began farming while also working at General Electric and the Bolton Township water district. In 1957, he married Elsie (Beyer, Fowler) Tipton in Denver Colorado on August 19. They made their home on the farm southeast of Arkansas City. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Bobby's favorite pastimes were farming, traveling, and family. Bobby was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Raymond G.Tipton and wife Betty, brother-in-law Elwin Shurts and wife Betty, 2 nephews, Mike Gardner, Terry Tipton, 1 grandson, Jason Tipton and 2 great grandchildren Maycom Ball, Jaden Esquivel and 1 great great grandchild, Arielle Daily and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include, wife of the home, children, Ray Tipton and wife Kathy of Montana, Gary Tipton and wife Carol of Oklahoma, Virginia (Tipton) Ball and husband Clifford and Rod Tipton of Arkansas City, sister Belva Gardner and sister-in-law Violet Beyer. 11 grandchildren Cammy Boone, Jeana Ball, Cody Ball, Brandy Flower, Bridget Balch, Jamie Tipton, Shawn Tipton, Caleb Tipton, Casey Tipton, Chad Tipton, Jesse Esquivel. 18 great grandchildren Paige Smith, Olivia Bates, Jordan Retzer, Alexis Boone, Adelya and Pake Ball, Brailea Tipton, Adisen and Hayes Balch, Kelly, Walker, Colton, Louis, Shylah, Dawson Tipton, Kaiden and Leighton Esquivel. 1 great great granddaughter Ayla Retzer and 3 step grandchildren. 8 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild.
